The planet is in a state of climate crisis and with current policies, the world is on track for 2.5-2.90C degrees of warming.

With just a 0.5 degree increase from 1.5 to 2 degrees in temperature the worlds coral reefs are in danger of vanishing entirely. Half a billion people on this planet depend on coral reefs for food and coastal protection and 5,000,000 people die prematurely every year due to heat increases from climate change.

Trócaire has been working on Climate Change across the world since 2008 by implementing Climate mitigation and adaptation projects in the countries that suffer the most from climate related droughts and floods, running hospitals and clinics in countries like Somalia for severely malnourished children and they have been advocating and challenging governments to take action.

The Business Post’s ESG Autumn Summit 2024, the sixth in our series, will explore how to ensure your business has the right skills and resources to successfully embed ESG reporting within existing business processes and operating models to help us all achieve the target of a post-climate crisis world.
